Today I’m going to share a bit about my journey towards becoming a personal trainer.
As you all know my name is Kasey and I’m 19 years of age. Before starting in the fitness world I was at a point in my life where my mental health became a barrier for many things a young girl should be enjoying in life.
At only the age of 13, I couldn’t leave the house due to anxiety, I was suffering with suicidal tendencies
and I started self- harming as a way to cope with everything that was going on in my head. My parents had tried every way they could possibly think to try and help me out of the dark place I was in, until one day my Dad literally dragged me along to his training
session with his personal trainer.
At the time I was thinking this is ridiculous and it was the last thing I wanted to do but from that day
on it has become something I have enjoyed doing as it has given me something to focus on, goals to achieve and something to look forward to in the future! There was also the bonus that I have extra energy and training has got my endorphins flowing!! Fitness has given me a different outlook on life, happiness and gave me the motivation to continue further education. Learning to have confidence in myself, in the process and having experienced first hand the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle.
Due to this, I would like to help other people like myself through fitness, I feel very privileged to be a part of this process with my clients.
Are you having one of those days where you don’t feel quite yourself? Try and do some light exercise even if it’s a slow walk around your living room! I promise it will help you feel a little bit better! You are not alone, we all have those types of days.
